Specie and Fine Art

Losses involving fine art, jewellery, antiques and other high value articles require specialist expertise and the ability to deal with sensitive Insured’s and claims with tact and understanding. Our fine art and specie team is one of the most experienced in the market with over 25 years’ experience in handling larger and complex claims.

We provide a full loss adjusting service and a specialist risk assessment service for Insurers and Reinsurers in the special and fine art market. This includes specialist surveys and recommendations for improvement of physical protection, electronic alarms, systems and procedures.

Our Specie and Fine Art team receives a wide range of instructions, including claims as a result of:

  • Armed robbery
  • Cash and valuables in transit
  • Sleight of hand
  • Abuse of trust
  • Mysterious disappearance
  • Sending losses
  • Loss of profit
  • Pairs and sets claims
  • Accidental damage

We operate from offices around the world to attend on site promptly following a loss in any jurisdiction and maintain a hands-on control of the claim. We have strong working relationships with local police in many countries and work where necessary with private investigators to recover stolen jewellery and art works. We also work closely with insurers, suppliers and restoration experts to replace and repair items whenever possible.

Our reports are valued for their detailed investigations into the cause of the loss as well the extent of policy liability, coverage, recovery, reserving and guidance on risk reduction.
