The staff engagement survey is an important annual mechanism by which we gauge how staff feel about working life at Charles Taylor. Staff opinion has guided us towards making important decisions to aid our attraction strategy and reduce staff turnover. For example, we have improved our sick pay provision, accelerated new hires to gaining the benefit of incremental leave, and introduced the Simply Health cash plan granting fast reimbursement for the direct costs of healthcare. We've also used the survey results to create stronger links between diversity and wellbeing, and to place greater emphasis on learning and development.
Overall response rate (all Charles Taylor Assistance) 85% vs 87% in 2018
Employee advocacy (promoer score) 84% vs 87% in 2018
Top five best performing aspects of working life in 2019 was the same from the previous year:
- Vertical relationship
- Working conditions
- Career progression
Despite doing well in these areas we will strive to understand employee opinions and any concerns which have affected how staff perceive these areas, resulting in a shift in the way they are ranked.
Heads of department will now be working with their teams to fully understand concern areas and to form action plans around these by end of January 2020. These will be reviewed by the senior management team in CT Assistance each quarter.
